How to Mirror iPhone & Android to PC | UxPlay + scrcpy

Want to mirror your iPhone or Android screen to a PC for free?
You can use:
- 🍎 iPhone/iPad → PC: UxPlay
- 🤖 Android → PC: scrcpy
- 💻 Windows, macOS & Linux: Supported
Both are free and open source.
🍎 iPhone → PC with UxPlay
UxPlay turns your PC into an AirPlay receiver, allowing you to mirror your iPhone or iPad.
Windows
Follow the Windows installation instructions from the official UxPlay GitHub repository.
After installation, run:
uxplay -fps 60 -fsThen on your iPhone:
Control Center → Screen Mirroring → Select your PC
macOS
Follow the macOS installation instructions from the official UxPlay repository.
Then run:
uxplay -fps 60 -fsLinux
On Ubuntu/Debian:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install uxplayOn Fedora:
sudo dnf install uxplayFor other distributions, check the official UxPlay repository.
Then run:
uxplay -fps 60 -fs🔌 Lowest Latency
For the lowest practical latency, use a wired network connection instead of Wi-Fi when your UxPlay setup supports it.
This can provide a more stable connection with less network delay, which is useful for gaming, recording and live demonstrations.
UxPlay uses AirPlay, so a normal USB cable does not directly turn it into a USB display. The cable setup needs to provide a suitable network connection between the iPhone and PC.
There is no literal zero-latency mirroring, but a wired connection can provide very low latency.
🤖 Android → PC with scrcpy
scrcpy lets you mirror and control your Android phone from a PC. It works over USB or Wi-Fi and does not require root or an app on the phone.
Windows
Download the latest Windows release from:
Extract the downloaded archive.
Connect your Android phone with USB and run:
scrcpy.exe
For mirroring with the phone display turned off:
scrcpy.exe --turn-screen-offmacOS
The easiest method is Homebrew:
brew install scrcpybrew install android-platform-tools
Connect your phone using USB and run:
scrcpy --turn-screen-offLinux
Download the official static Linux build from the scrcpy releases page.
For a standard 64-bit Intel/AMD PC, download:
scrcpy-linux-x86_64-v4.1.tar.gz
Extract it:
tar -xzf scrcpy-linux-x86_64-v4.1.tar.gzEnter the extracted folder:
cd scrcpy-linux-x86_64-v4.1Copy both scrcpy and its server:
sudo cp scrcpy scrcpy-server /usr/local/bin/Now you can run it from any folder:
scrcpy --turn-screen-offNote: The official Linux static release is simply downloaded and extracted. No apt install scrcpy, Snap, or installation script is required.
🔌 Connect Android by USB
For the lowest latency, use a USB cable.
Enable Developer Options.
Enable USB debugging.
Connect the phone directly to your PC with a USB cable.
Run:
scrcpy --turn-screen-offAccept the USB debugging permission on your phone.
Your Android screen will appear on the PC, while the phone's physical display can remain turned off.
